First Offender Dui 8 Hour Class

Description:

8 Hour Course – 1 time per week – 4 hrs a day (08 Hours) Cost: $180.00

The staff at Academy of Human Development has been involved in the education of the perils of driving under the influence. The staff members possess approximately twenty plus years in the behavior modification of individuals.

One staff member has been a bilingual Social Psychologist for the Las Vegas Municipal Court for the past nine (9) years and served in the development of the program. Another staff member has worked in law enforcement as an officer with extensive exposure to the injuries and fatalities of driving impaired.

At AHD, the main program focus is on the efforts to prevent or reduce impaired driving crashes.

Staff members from AHD belong to the State of Nevada Attorney General’s Advisory Coalition on drunk driving.

AHD has been participating in the aggressive outreach to the Hispanic/Latin community to educate in the awareness of prevention, intervention, and criminal justice system function in this country as it compares to the laws in their country of origin.

This information is disseminated in the manner of literature, workshops, and media. AHD also participates in programs conjunction with the local Stop DUI organization, Victims of Impact Panel and law enforcement in the Las Vegas Area.

The Academy of Human Development courses are approved by the Post-Secondary Education Commission of Nevada and also by the DMV Licenses DUI000029477, TSS000029478

 

 

Traffic Safety

Description:

5 Hour Course – 1 time per week – 5 hrs a day (08 Hours) Cost: $35.00

If you have accumulated between 3 and 11 points you may have 3 points removed by completing a traffic safety course only if the course is not part of a plea-bargain agreement with a court of law. If the course is required to complete a plea bargain with a court, no credit is given.

The school must be one of those approved by the DMV. You may attend traffic school only once in a 12-month period to remove points from your record.

Attending traffic safety school removes 3 demerit points. However, the record of the conviction remains part of your driving history.

Impulse Control, Petit Larceny

Description:

8 Hours Course- 2 times per week- 4 hours a day (08 Hours) Cost: $ 180.00

This information is disseminated in the manner of literature, workshops, and media. At AHD, the main program focus is on the efforts to prevent, reduce and modified the behavior of the offenders.

 

D.U.I. Evaluation

Description:

DUI Evaluation: The purpose of a DUI evaluation is to conduct an initial screening to obtain significant and relevant information from a DUI offender about the nature and extent of the use of alcohol or other drugs in order to:

  1. Identify the offender's risk to public safety for the circuit court of venue or the Office of the Secretary of State; and
  2. Recommend an initial intervention to the DUI offender and to the circuit court of venue.

Required Documents: A current copy of driving record (driving abstract), obtained at local driver’s license facility. The abstract document must state for court purposes. Copy of Notice of Summary Suspension Law Enforcement Sworn Report received at the time of your arrest which shows your BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) or refusal.
